Plant trees to attract rain for food security
Plant trees to attract rain for food security
A visit to Kakamega, bungoma and busia Counties reveals that
there are very many types of trees grown and some are very tall and
have been there for sometimes. But inside Busia County in areas of Samia
especially hakati, funyula, bukiri etc reveals that there are areas which
lack trees and if the trees are there, they are very short and have
recently been grown.Last month many areas experienced rain but in Samia
constituency there has been no rain since March which can make crops
produce food.Generally crops have failed in Samia constituency and the
residents are staring at hunger in the next four months. Therefore
planting of trees as very important and chiefs, elders and community
leaders should talk to residents for the need of planting trees as they
are beneficial to weather, medicine, food and general well-being.Trees
are life.Let us stop cutting trees.
