Media announcers should be smart

Media announcers should be smart
1950's era TV news anchor reading the news
There was an item in the news which mentioned that someone was concerned with the dressing code of an announcer in one of the station and also asking the announcer to dress for the occasion as he was not pleased with the way he was dressed while announcing. Nowdays the dressing code of announcers has really changed for the worst. A while ago announcers had to wear short skirts while doing interviews which distracted both the viewers and those being interviewed.Viewers remember the good old days when announcers like Catherine kasavuli,Julie gichuru, mwanaisha chidzuga and others who when they came to the media to announce news  they oozed beauty and were dressed to kill.Until with curiosity, asking how come the announcers were smart and we were told that beautician were employed by stations to spruce up both male and female announcers who were to go to on the screen. With the many stations in Kenya, why don't stations and announcers liase with fashion designers who can sell their designs by clothing the announcers while they showcase their design on fashion.Such a move will benefit the designers, announcers as well as the station. When people inquire where the announcer bought or got his/her attire or dress,it is a boost to the designers and many jobs will be created. Being on the screen is a previledge which both the announcers and the fashion designers can pick as low hanging fruits. One of the station has a competition where designers show case their designs and l fail to understand why they don't dress their own announcers with the fashion they design during the competitions.Let television stations be concerned with the image of their presenters.
