Let Parliament appoint physicians to examine candidates alongside IEBC

This week IEBC is accepting nominations papers of candidates from various political parties who will vie for the August 8 general elections. This task is hectic,as it involves groups of people accompanying the candidates not withstanding people of the press. This candidates need time with the IEBC officials because  the candidates need to answer questions as well as present their documents. But with the tensions withstanding, IEBC is forced to clear some candidates as first as wind, because they come with noisy supporters in tow and with people of the media. But in future doctors,creditors,finger print experts, EACC and Kenyans in general,should be given a chance to interrogate the candidates to get the true picture and position of the candidates. The doctors can include psychiatrist and physician who will be mandated to give a true physical and mental wellbeing of a candidate. IEBC maybe clearing people apart from having integrity issues, the candidate may need simple things like eye glasses or be treated first for either mental health disease or some serious diseases. The candidates can be treated and Kenyans can be assured of leaders who are physically, emotionally and mentally healthy to be leaders in Kenyan. Look at the case of Nigeria now. Fore armed is forewarned. Also in future let the candidates submit their documents a week before,so that the people mandated to vet the candidates have ample time with the candidates papers. The candidate will be given a date to come and hear the results which will also include medical records.
