Governors and senators should show incoming candidates their job details
It is now two months to the general elections. Some governors and senators lost in the nominations and chances of them being
reelected are nil. Some are independent candidates while some have thrown in the towel and they will not be on the ballot. They were the pioneer of devolution and have a wealth of knowledge, experience and information and those gunning for their jobs are naive and new to the job. lt is therefore imperative for these governors and senators to hold seminars, workshop and a conference to all contestants, so that whoever will be elected will have a knowledge of what goes on in counties. Although some governors and senators will not be in the ballot their experience is invaluable and should be harnessed early. So it is prudent for the incoming governors or senators to be educated on the important areas of devolution and what they will do on the day to day basis. Governors have a council which safe guard their interest,so it is a high time they organised a workshop or seminar for candidates of governorship also senators should do the same. The next Parliament should put a clause that those gunning for governors and senators should have a diploma or degree in leadership. There have been cases of corruption in counties and those who will be elected should stop the vice. Let us hope those who will be elected, will not have these cases of misappropriation of funds.
