Talk in Radio shows are taking Kenyans for a ride

Every radio station has good presenters some who are comedians. This is so because badly a week ends without the presenters moving from one station to another as competition is high. The presenters make programs from morning to evening by interesting by making jokes,giving gift hampers,money and involving Kenyans in their programs. This has became interesting as some Kenyans, have seen this as a way of airing their good deeds and also airing their dirty linen in public. The game changer comes about when they involve Kenyans in quizzes, questions and answer activities in order to make the programs interesting. But as soon as someone answers a question through SMS you discover that an SMS cost between 50/- to 20.This is costly because Safaricom charges only 1 shilling an sms and why should these radio programs charge that much? But that notwithstanding there is another SMS which follows asking the sender of the SMS if she/he would like to enroll in another program which will be costing from 20 to 30/- per day. ls this legal? In one day radio stations are reaping from Kenyans a lot of money through such programs. lf a person calls in, you find that they are now playing interval music and your  airtime money ends up lost. Nevertheless they delay announcing the winners, so that they can get  over 1000 SMS and if each cost 20/- how much does one program generate? This is not right and let consumer organisation investigate this radio stations. Let the radio stations announce how many people have sent SMS's and how they went about choosing the winner. Radio's and T V stations (media ) always use their platforms to castigate corrupt practices in Kenya and they should also not use their stations to squeeze of money from Kenyans. They should not use call in programs to enrich themselves. Kenyans need the little money left to purchase unga.
