 Let parents come easy on the school reports brought at home by students

A report is the final representation of the student's grade for a class. School progress cards serve an important role in allowing teachers, students and parents to track how well the student does throughout the year. In turn, this gives students a chance to correct study habits, modify their behaviors and make other changes to keep themselves on a positive academic course.
Reports are documents designed to record and convey information to the reader.Other reports summarize past events, present current data, and forecast future trends. While a report may have conclusions, propositions, or even a call to action, the demonstration of the analysis is the primary function.With school progress cards, students have the chance to identify their improvement needs and make changes to bring their grades up before the final report cards are released.
Teachers can track how well their students are doing in class and learning through school progress cards. By maintaining progress reports, teachers are forced to review student strengths and weaknesses on a regular basis. In doing so, educators can spot trends to address academically. For instance, a particular trend may suggest that the majority of students in the classroom are not doing well in maths.
Students are now sitting for their final exams.Those doing CBC are from grade 1 to grade 5.And those doing regular subjects are from class 6 to class 8.Then there is form 1 to form 4. Last December a student in a secondary school in Bumula stabbed his father on the chest several times and fled.The father had asked the student to get him his school report book after the closure of schools,so that he can look at his performance.Instead the student gave the first term report book and picked a kitchen knife he had bought and stabbed his father several times.The quarrel led the son to kill the father .Therefore it is a high time parents this holiday took easy with their children in discussing the report cards to avoid quarrels between them.CBC has narrowed down to four areas of a student report.These are exceeding expectation,meeting expectation,approaching expectation and below expectation.It has reduced stress on students and parents. Students now know their rights and with the prevailing circumstances like Covid and parents poverty this can lead to low performance of students.Therefore this end term parents should desist from picking quarrels with their children about their school reports and instead help the students in revision.
