Sellings foodstuffs on the road should be discouraged
Jobs are hard to find. But there are some traders both young men and women on the road from boma (junction of Kitale and Eldoret) in Eldoret and before Kericho County selling oranges, maize and other food stuffs on the road. Sometimes they sell cooked food. This is not only dangerous but their actions distract drivers from manoeuvring on the road. They wave the foodstuffs on the passing public buses, matatus and private cars. The problem comes when both sides receive vehicles simultaneously endangering their lives.Let the police and road authority stop this behavior as it will not benefit the traders but put their lives at risk.Let Eldoret and Kericho Counties build sheds which the traders can use so that vehicles can park their vehicles safely aside and buy instead of them haggling on windows.A good example are traders in Machakos County who have well built sheds which have even electricity.Travellers in need of the goods park aside and buy their goods in an orderly manner.Sometimes when there are no vehicles the traders mostly the youth remain standing on the road talking obvious of the danger they are putting themselves.
