High cases of defilement are worrying 2018 Economic survey shows there were 774 cases of rape,3487 cases of defilement,287 cases of invest,107 sodomy,26 bestiality,245 indecent assault,138 abduction,68 bigamy in 2017.These are reported cases and they could be more out there which were not reported or parents may have been compromised. Show programs suitable for children this holiday School children are now at home. And as the ministry of education has ordered, there is no tuition or holiday coaching. Therefore TV and Radio's which are the mainstream  which are now very many and are information giving and entertaining should show programmes as early as 9.00 am which will entertain, inform and educate children. Nowadays surprisingly many programs are showing interviews can continue with such programs sometimes upto lunchtime, denying childrens the right of learning, information or adding CBC knowledge. STOP CAR WASH IN LION’S STAGE IN KlTALE It is a sad reality that River Athi has formed a long disease corridor as it snakes its way to the Indian Ocean. At lions' stage in Transzoia County there is a carwash and vehicles which include, Lorries, Cars,Nairobi Matatu's and motorcycles are washed using the water from the river which also snakes its way to villages bring poison to homes. Let authorities ban the washing of vehicles at lion’s stage in Transzoia County, as it is spreading diseases and more people may die of cancer. Counties are dealing with an explosion of cancer,dirrhoea, skin disease and water borne diseases. Let the Government protect Lake Victoria fishermen We buried this fellow (name withheld) last month. He was of fisherman in Lake Victoria. The cause of death was that he was found floating in water and upon examination he was found to have injuries on his head and abdomen. I recall during our holidays in Busia, fishermen could passby every day at 4.00pm and my late mother would purchase fresh fish. This is the way of life of residents  Samia and Bunyala.  Fish is the delicacy. A report that men in military gear seize fishermen boats, give them 100 stroke of the cane and are made to eat raw fish is not only dehumanizing but against human rights. These people do legal jobs of fishing to eke a living but are beaten, arrested, taken to court and are forced to pay 50,000/- to get back their gear. Census officials should count people before midnight I met a group of Mombasa County residents in an intense debate about fears of the upcoming census.Their pertinent questions were valid,such as why is the census being done at night? If the census officials knock at their door at 2.00 am should they open the door? Why should census officials not count residents in the daytime? Because of the recent insecurity,the residents expressed their fears and worries that rogue people will look for police uniform and take advantage of the census night and rob and injure residents.Let census officials start counting people as early as from 5.00 pm as some families will have arrived at home.Chief's should also be sensitized to talk to their residents to come early to their homes so that the counting become a success.Let the government tell employers to release their employees early by at least one hour.Therefore Mombasa County residents want to see the census officials counting them as early

Stop importing manure from other Countries We have two Universities in Kenya that offer agriculture studies as their speciality. These are Jomo Kenyatta University and Egerton University.When l heard in the news that Kenya has imported manure, l felt so sad.The Government funds these Universities as well as pay salaries to lecturers.In every University there is research department and l fail to understand why Kenya as a Country in this day and  age is still importing manure from other Countries.What are our Professors in the Universities researching on? The imported manure could harm our soil as well as our crops because we do not know the formula.If Kenya has discovered Mpesa which is a high technical innovation,why not make our own manure and patent it and as some farmers in the rural areas can make their manure.Let Egerton  and Jomo Kenyatta University revert to agriculture based studies to reduce the dependence of foreign products so as to reduce using foreign exchange and bring

A personal appeal to the government I wish to appeal to the government to rescind the order that all import cargo to be transported  by SGR.This order will kill the trading centers along Mombasa - Nairobi route.If you go to history,you will find that trade is a major factor of shops,hotels and resting places built along Mombasa -Nairobi route.The drivers who number over 20,000 will be rendered jobless which will affect the economy of Mombasa County.There will be destitutes and crime will soar.These 20,000 have dependants and families whom they pay school fees,rent houses and provide for them.The transport companies will lay off these drivers and it will escalate unemployment in Kenya and Mombasa.The economy along Mombasa-Nairobi route will be affected.The hospitality industry along the highway will be affected as the drivers are their biggest customers.The SGR is making enough money without this directive.Let the government which vowed to protect its citizens rescind this direct

What do Kibra's many contestants have to offer? After the death of former M P of Kibra,Ken Okoth who was a development concious leader,many contestants have come out to vie for the seat.The problem is,it is the first time we are hearing the names of these people.Where were they and what have they done in their lives to warrant them to   seek to be M P of Kibra.Where do they have to offer?There is radio, TV,social media, Twitter ( President Trump) internet etc and we have never heard them talk,pen letters in the newspapers,protest injustices or call for news conference to bring Kibra's problem in any platform.We have never seen them in any demostration, distributing food to the needy, political platform, articulate issues of the nation( even posting a video of themselves saying something).
