Thank you for the many things you are doing for Kenya and especially recently when you championed the removal of delocalization in teaching proffession.l will urge you to follow it up as some teachers have complained that they have not received transfer letters as the County directors are still dragging their feet.Let your directive be followed.
The aim of this letter is to request you to rein on radios in the Country.Each radio station except religious ones, have paybills or they are running betting programs from morning to evening.You cannot open a radio station without being asked to send money so as to win this or that.After 3 minutes they remind listeners again to send between 50/- and 100/- to their paybills.lmagine recently people who applied for hustler fund and got 500/- and above,some spent their money on this betting on radio.Radio's have failed to give news,information,entertainment and education and they are capitalizing on betting only.The era when people used to call radio stations and requested particular songs is long gone.This is replaced with betting. ln an hour there is only two songs lasting two minutes. The richest people in business now are owners of radios today.lmagine since morning the presenters send the paybill to listeners after every 3 minutes till evening,how much do they profit? This betting has affected many homes very badly.
Children have sent an alarm that they sent money to their aged parents who end up betting from morning to evening,thus ending up without money for food or medication.The youth are also betting their food and rent in colleges and Universities not forgetting those who are entrusted to buy items but end up betting.
Deputy President you are a man of action.End these radio betting to bring sanity in listening of radio in Kenya.The radios were surviving without this betting and they can do it.This betting was once discussed somewhere but it ended without a warning of radio's stopping the betting.l don't know what communication commission is doing about this problem.Please stop them now.Waiting to hear from you
