Where are the election pledges from elected officials

Where are the election pledges from elected officials?

When politicians were campaigning for elective seats they promised heaven but not hell. They promised jobs for the youth, pay fees for everyone (free education), no maternity fees, good roads, piped water and any more. But  now Kenyans are experiencing hell as recently there has been a trend in some counties where there has been demolitions of traders kiosks. In Mombasa they started with kongowea, where they evicted hawkers, then mtongwe where they demolished a storey building to pave way for a bridge to be completed in the year 2020.Why not give time to the owners? But there were allegations that some houses were spared. Since demolition was done in kongowea nothing has been going on so far. ln Nairobi county, this is where there was mother of all demolitions. Traders just wake up one morning and everything is gone. No business and no stock. They have been very frequent and the latest  is the curio Triangle market. Owners did not get time to remove their wares or alternatively they did not give the traders time to remove their properties. Caterpillars are the ones calling shots. They demolished curio shops, eateries, Mpesa and cloth shops under tight security by armed police. Demolition are now led by (Kenha) Kenya rural roads authority, National construction Authority and the building inspectorate. The traders are stranded after voting for these leaders who have turned blind for their plight. These traders have mouths to feed, rent to pay while Members of Parliament are increasing their salaries 700 times. Is this the way to create jobs? How many homes now have no bread to put on their tables because of these demolitions? I was surprised at the Likoni ferry on the island, all the space has been surrounded by a wall where will small traders eke their living? How many children after this 2017 elections will miss school fees as a result of this haphazard demolitions? Many. These demolitions will create a conducive atmosphere for crimes and suicides as families cannot make ends meet. Let Governors meet these traders who have turned their jobless situations into favourable situations by starting businesses and chart the way forward and transfer these traders to better places. Next time let them be humane by calling for consultative meeting before any demolitions is done. These leaders are in office for only 5 years. Time will tell. Will Kenya achieve sustainable development goals?
